Wic is so late on getting back to people who need help it's ridiculous. I just got a call today for breastfeeding help. I asked for help when dd2 was about 2 months.... she is now 14 months. So almost a year later they are calling back! She said they would send someone out right away to help me...?? We haven't breastfed since she was 6-7 months. SMH. This call would have been nice a year ago!

What the hell. How is that even okay?

Why didn't you keep calling and following up back then?

You're in Vegas, right? I've heard WIC is a joke out here (from other moms). I didn't even bother calling them when I had DD.

Lol when I got pregnant with my second, they assigned me a breastfeeding peer counselor who kept calling to see if I had any questions. Would have been far more helpful if they had done that when I had my first

Yes I'm in Vegas and it is a joke. Pp, when you sign up for them to get help their is no number to call for that. They always say the same thing "they will call you." I have two kids I'm not gonna spend my day calling wic as they take forever to answer and just give me the run around. I got alot of help from here.@skate it's not OK really but they have you sign up with them then someone from outside their office calls you to set up a home visit to help you. It's through wic though. Iv learned not to expect alot of from wic I mean they told me dd2 was overweight and she was only 13 lbs and like 5 months or so.

I'm just waiting for the "you should be grateful you even qualify" comments ?
But in all seriousness when I went to add my daughter to my WIC, they asked if my son was off baby food...he's almost 2

I'm in GA but I had a nutritionist at WIC tell me my son had thrush because I wasn't breastfeeding him. I thank goodness that's the only problem I've had with them though.
