Lol I don't think it's the fact that people should not have any slang at all, it's more the fact that there's sooo much out there it's hard to keep up with what means what. Nobody's trying to impede on what you're saying, it's just hard to keep up!

Side note: I don't even know what lit means. Is that like smoking the good stuff or....?

My brother uses slang all the time. We are renovating our house and the other day I was showing him my dream plans. His response? "Yo that's so snatched, GOALS AF."

I literally had no idea what he meant. I was just like, sooooooo do you like it though...? ?

My niece always says everything is goals. I told her my oldest loved her baby sister.. She sent back a message that said "mom goals". I was like "yeah its a goal as a mother for her children to love each other."

I am interested to know what lit, fam, and squad mean though?? Anyone that uses those care to help out?

Also, I don't think of savage as a new slang term. It's just a normal word that's been used for a long time.

Fam is family and squad is like a close group of friends. My nieces and nephews use these daily.

Squad-your friends, fam-your family or close friends who are basically family, lit-drunk, stoned or just really cool (she was totally lit or that club is totally lit), savage-you're a beast. Having grown up in the eras of "rad, gnarly, bangin', peeps" I've come to the conclusion that slang is always questionable. I'm old as hell so I try to avoid using slang of any kind. I can make myself look idiotic without the help of questionable verbiage. Lol

To my knowledge, lit in reference to a person refers to intoxication while lit in reference to an event or place refers to coolness-it was poppin'. Lol

Lit- like hip pretty much like "it's gonna be lit af" vs "it's gonna be hip af" if you don't know what hip means then basically great too
