Its been 17 years since my brother was killed. I was only 5 and my brother was only 18. I can remember playing with TOPS, with my little sister. All of a sudden my dad says NO! NO! GIRLS GET YOUR COATS NOW! He walked us down to our neighbors house and she watched us. My mom got the note my dad left to come down to the neighbors. She had been Christmas shopping. When she got down there our neighbor told her "Stephen was shot.. Ron is at the hospital" the moment those words left her mouth my mom fell to the ground and started crying and she rushed out to the hospital.

I know how it feels. We celebrate Christmas without both my brothers. They have both passed. Along with one of my step dads. While it never gets easier, it moves on.
This helps us:

~I just want to tell you you still make me proud You stand head & shoulders above all the crowd

@kimbruleigh they did find the guy but everything at the trial went wrong. The guy threw the gun over the wall and the cops didn't retrieve it until Christmas day. They said there was too much dew to get any prints off. Then this lady went to testify bc she told police she saw what happened. But the lady gets on the stand and said she had not been drinking bc she was an alcoholic. Then turned around and said she had one beer. Which made her testimony thrown out and he was released. But bc he wasn't really tried if he ever opens his mouth to someone and they have a heart they turn him in and he can be tried again! Its been really hard for my mom. Especially since today is a Wednesday and it happened on a Wednesday afternoon.
