In honor of premature birth. I was a preemie as well as both my children. A lot of you know my first didn't make it. He was 33 weeks stillborn. My dd was born 9 weeks early. Her heart rate was lowering at my 31 week u/s. I had pre eclampsia and low fluids. I was admitted and had her 3 days later. The day she was born I was having contractions that they kept stopping. At 8 that night my mom had come up to see me. She stayed for an hour and told me to call her if anything happened. Right after she left I felt so much pain in my left side. I was crying and kept telling the nurse I'm in labor and she kept saying no your not. I started screaming and trying to get out of the bed. My df was holding me down by the shoulders. They gave a shot to "calm" me down and it didn't work. So my df called my mom to come back. When she got back up to me she was holding my legs down bc I wasn't giving up trying to leave. I was passing out and they called a u/s tech to come a check baby. Well she was pushing the wand in my stomach and it hurt so bad. She then said "call the Dr." I was scared and was crying still. Finally the Dr got there. Then I felt a gush and told them my water broke. The nurse looked and said no your bleeding! I became hysterical and telling them to save her. My Dr had them prep me for an emergency c-section. I had to get a spinal block. At 12:08 am June 22 Alisa Diane-Dawn Fields was born. 2lbs 12oz and 15 in long. She made a small squeak and they rushed her to the nicu. About 2-3 hours later I asked what went wrong. My Dr said my placenta detached from the wall.... again! (Same happened with my son). He told me that if he would have came just 5minutes later I would have lost her and my own life. I had anemia and was also bleeding internally. I had a bruise from the incision to the middle if my thighs. One huge bruise. I wanted to see her so badly. I got to see her 12 hours or so later. When I saw her I cried. She was so beautiful. I got to hold her for 30 mins and then I had to put her back in the incubator. The next day they told us she needed a blood transfusion and yes I cried so hard. Then the next day she needed another one. I was absolutely distraught. But she is a fighter! She was on oxygen for two days! Her APGAR score was an 8. She stayed in the nicu for 33 days. She weighed 4lbs 7oz when we brought her home. Now just 5 months later she is 10lbs 8oz! She doesn't have any delays that we can see as of now. She smiles and babbles all the time. She has since 3 months. God gave me a true blessing! She is the strongest person I know and I love my little 31 week girl! She's precious and stole my heart.
