Is it really you??.. My guardian angel
I'm sitting with dd and watching t.v. All of a sudden I smell grease. Like car grease. I think its my daddy visiting me. :) He owned his own mechanic shop. Worked on Volkswagens and I distinctly remember this smell. Lol. Gosh I miss him so much. He was such a great daddy. I remember every year on our birthdays, he would get up really early and start pounding on the bedroom door yelling to get up. So of course I was always jumping out of bed and running to the door before I noticed him smiling and then he'd say happy birthday. Lmao. He would wake us kids up for school every morning and always said time to get up. I remember hearing his Volkswagen bus ('67 everything including paint is original and in excellent condition) and we would go running out to open the gate for him to park in the driveway. We were so happy he was home! Lol So many good memories. He used to rub his cheek on ours and make our faces red with his prickly(needed to shave) face. Lol.... In the summer it gets so hot here in Vegas and he used to sweat so bad and every time we would give him a hug he would try to wipe his sweat off on us! It was so gross but i wouldn't mind one right now. Just to give him a hug would mean a lot to me.

Your post made my heart skip a beat. I lost my dad at a really young age. I feel like I didn't get to cherish or take advantage of those kind of moments.
I look forward to my kids to have those kind of special memories with their dad. I hope they'll have what I missed out on ❤

He was an amazing man. He touched a lot of peoples lives. I always knew he'd be gone some day but I never thought it would be at the age of 21. He's not really gone though and that's a good thing to know. :)

Totally made me tear up too! I miss my daddy everyday, I lost him when I was 12 (I'm 27 now)...not a day goes by that I don't think about him! Not one single day.
Oh and I totally love that your dad is coming to visit you and you know this because of the smell! It's amazing ?

I haven't lost my dad but he also owns a mechanic shop and also owned a vw bus. I remember I used to be so embarrassed everytime he would drop us off at school in that thing.
But reading your post makes me realize I should appreciate the small things :).
Sorry for your loss. Your daddy is always with you.

@fetch we used to ask my dad to give us a ride to school. Lol... All my friends loved it! My brother owns his shop now. He has a Baja bug. It has power! Lol

I've had a few times where I've smelled peppermint candies and realized that my grandfather was around. It normally happens when I'm scared and I know my Papa add I called him is there to comfort me and help keep me safe.

Its amazing how much I come in "contact" with my daddy. I have dreams that are so real and I talk to him as if he's gone in my dreams. Its crazy. Noone else in my family has said anything about having dreams or smelling things. I think bc I struggle the most within my family and he knew that. I feel him around when I'm really stressed out. Its a calming feeling in the air.
