just stop it already!!
I'm sick and tired of people telling me how to parent MY dd!! I recently started co sleeping. My dd is much more comfortable and sleeps much better with us then in her bassinet. So a friend asks me where she sleeps? I say we co sleep.. she goes on about how I'm doing it wrong and I'm making a mistake bc now my dd won't go anywhere without me. She says I did that now my child is a spoiled brat.... um well just bc your child is a "brat" doesn't mean mine will be! Stop telling me how to raise my child. Stop saying I'm making a "mistake" bc I'm not!! I'm her mom I know what's best for her!

The statement "if you co-sleep your child will never leave you alone" always cracks me up. We co-slept for 2 years. Our dd is so independent and wants to do things on her own. She is the farthest from needy and insecure she could possibly be. Sometimes we joke that shes "too cool for us." i could not even imagine how that statement could be remotely true. The statement, "if you co-sleep, your child will never be able to sleep alone" is also untrue. Even though we co-slept for 2 years, dd - almost 3 years old now, sleeps in her own bed, in her own room now. Happily.
Some people just like to force their ideas onto others. Its frustrating. Co-sleeping didn't make her child a brat. Most likely a lack of consistent discipline and the following the example set out by her parents did that. Where a child sleeps doesn't have anything to do with it.

I think the more you 'mother' your baby, the more confident and independent they are

My mom told me the same thing. When my brother was 3 they had to but him a water bed to get out of their bed. We co slept amd still do if she wakes for a bottle in the middle of the night. She's happy I'm happy I don't care if she's attached. Keep doing what your doing:)

Always judge parenting decisions. It will probably never stop. I just ignore it at this point. Do what's best for ur child, which it sounds like u r doing :)

Simple! Your child your choices! I stopped listening to people a long time ago lol unless it's me going to someone for advice I don't take any thing.

Thank you all! I love having her next to me. I know everyone parents differently. When she said that I felt the anger sweep in. I always see posts of how others are always trying to step on the parents toes and have their say. I didn't think anyone would try that with me.
