Oh man I know the feeling. My upstairs neighbors walk really hard, and my downstairs one is always outside being a drunken mess. Some ppl just don't care!

Call the cops and tell them it sounds like a scuffle or fight upstairs and could they check? Maybe it would be enough to calm your neighbors down.

Oh man i feel ya. We have 5 people upstairs, including 2 young boys and a baby. None of them are exactly small..

I got in trouble for writing threatening notes. lol

They said I'm disturbing them by hitting the roof with the broom.... well your disturbing my daughters sleep. What do they do laugh and make more noise! Next step is cops!

Call the landlord each time. Most won't keep a renter who is constantly getting complaints on.

I hated having people above me!

In my first apartment, two skanky girls lived above me & they partied EVERY NIGHT! Girl above my room had sex or hours & hours and she had the most obnoxious fake moans I have ever heard! "Uh-yeah! Uh-yeah!" - seriously? One of their friend pissed in front of my door because I told them to quiet down one time.

This makes me relish in the fact that no one lives above mgr right now and dread when someone does move in

I'm sure I'll get crap for this but I don't see the big deal. They are living life, they shouldn't have to adjust just before you have a baby. Yes, it is annoying but you live in an apartment. What do you expect the office to do? Give them a warning for walking too hard?? But I would absolutely call the cops about them beating on your door.

I will punch someone in the face if they piss in front of my door! I hate having them up there. Before it didn't bother me but now my dd is home.

@purple.panther they are not just walking to hard. They are doing it on purpose! They stomped louder after I asked them to keep it down a lil. They laughed when I said my newborn is sleeping! My dd just got home from being in nicu. They are just rude ass people!

When you live in an apartment, you have to accept that there will be noise from your neighbors but that doesn't mean your neighbors shouldn't be considerate and do their part to keep the noise down! Just because you live in an apartment it doesn't mean you have to tolerate loud music, screaming, and unnecessary stomping.

OP I would continually complain to management. I wouldn't call the cops over stomping because that's not illegal and its not loud enough to be classified as a noise complaint. I would however return the favor and vacuum at 3am or bang the ceiling randomly through out the night :)

Have you tried talking to them about it? If you have and their still rude, call the cops.

I know this feeling!! This happens to be on a daily basis. Our office also does nothing. We have high ceilings so I will stand on the counter to bang on the ceiling. Sometimes a child runs back and forth. They also apparently have a wood dining table (which idk how it fits in the kitchen area) and they constantly slide the chairs. Earlier it sounded like they dropped a bowling ball. I hate them!!

Aww man I feel you on this one my neighbors are the same way. So I take my broom and tap the ceiling til they get the point. This is my first and last time living in a apt.

If its during the day the cops wont do anything about the noise i believe about 10pm they will do something. Document when you call a complaint for a while i know it sucks but look into renter laws maybe you can find a way to force the people you rent from to care.

That's disturbing the peace, id file police reports On them & have the cops deal with it. & then demand the landlord move me.!

Call the damn police and make a report. Then take it to your manger and tell you will sue. It worked with my friend, and she was able to break her lease early.

Pp were not on a lease but the cost of living here is a lot its not so bad where we live for cost. But df went up there last night and told them to keep it down and they were like Ok... like Wtf!? I told them nicer then he did. I asked them he told them and they did... -_-

In our city, there is no set time when the noise ordinance takes effect. If it is at 2:00 p.m. in the afternoon and someone is playing loud music, you can call the cops. Check your city's laws.

Honestly though you landlord or rental office should be handling this. Since they aren't, you need to do whatever possible to ensure your LO gets some sleep.
