Retrieval day! They got 15 eggs. I'm not sure how I feel about the numbers as my first retrieval gave 13 eggs (5 mature) and zero PGS-normal, whereas my second retrieval gave 20 eggs (14 mature) and 2 PGS-normal. Still feeling groggy from the anaesthetic... I'll hopefully get some good news tomorrow when they tell me the maturity and fertilisation numbers.
UPDATE: Four made it to PGS test and freeze ????. The 10-12 day wait for the results has begun!
Even tho it means nothing until the PGS results are back, I'm really pleased with this result - I wasn't expecting so many to survive this long! ????
Thanks for the encouragement, ladies. I don't like my chances coz at 41 years old there's only about 15% of eggs that are good ?. Next results on Sunday when I find out how many survived 5 days to biopsy and freeze. It only takes one... ?
Congrats! Yay!
I wouldn’t worry about your numbers. It sounds like you’re in really good hands at your clinic. I bet they learned a thing or two from the last two retrievals so that’s going to give you waaaaayy higher chances of getting more mature eggs.
Hoping and praying for the best for you! ?♀️??????
Those are good numbers. I have 24 eggs, 19 mature, 13 fertilized and I transfer 2 and only had 3 to freeze. So if maybe I had less and more to freeze I would have been happier with that. So hope 1 or 2 babies come out of my frozen ones and close this charter of my life and enjoy my kids. Best of luck. And hope you have lots to freeze.
Congratulations, Liz! I hope your pgs results are just as positive
