You guys...
SO and I leave Saturday for a trip to the Bahamas KID FREE! Now that it's almost here though I'm feeling sad I'll be away from her for 6 days ?. Has anyone vacationed without their kiddos before?
Thanks guys I'm pretty excited! She will be with my parents. My mom watches her while I work already and she loves their house (it's cooler than ours). I haven't been to the beach in 3 years so it's well over due!
Just because you're a mom, doesn't mean that is all your life entails. You deserve it and you will have such a great time! Of course you'll miss your little one. That's obvious. But if you know she's in good hands, you should try to relax and enjoy!
My husband and I get away, it's usually for 3 days... but that's because we don't have someone available to watch for a whole week, unfortunately. Have a great time!!
I have! I went to the dr in may for a week! It's crazy but it will be okay! Just FaceTime often, enjoy your time and don't be sad the whole time! Have whosever watching them to send pictures daily, but try to not have them call 24/7 cause that will honestly make you sad. Enjoy your time and maybe set a designated time a day to talk to them! It gets easier every day! Just remember you need you time and when they're older they'll get to enjoy an awesome vacation with you too! Have fun! Super jealous
We don't vacation without our little one. A personal family choice. I can only count on one hand how many times we left her. Never more than 2-3 hours. I prefer to have her with me when doing things as a family and so does SO. As long as your personal family choice is to vacation with your SO then so be it. Enjoy the beautiful weather and have fun!!
df and i just took a baby-free getaway last weekend! we were supposed to stay friday and saturday night but we came home early because it was the first time i was away from lo and i was emotional lol. have fun!! no matter how much you miss them, try to relax and enjoy yourself because these opportunities are usually few and far between. ?
Girl if I had the chance I may never come back lmao joking of course but I have 4young kids and I stay home with them, we don't have any help ever so it's truthfully 24/7/365 for me and I would jump at the chance to go on a vacation with just my SO.
I would also feel apprehensive because I'm a control freak/worrier but I think this will be nothing but great for your relationship. I remember you've gone through some hard times in that department recently and I think this trip will really give you your groove back as a couple. Enjoy it!
Dh and I get one date night a month. I would love to have 6 days with him again!!
I love my son to the moon and back but I still need/want a relationship with my husband. What do you do when your kids grow up and you don't know the person you're married to anymore??
Kid free time is normal, AND healthy. ??
Have fun for me mama!!
I wish I could but I miss my peanut just being an hour away from him . He cries at night for me if I'm not there so I can't vacation :/ he stood one night at the beach with my dad and screamed all night crying for me. It broke my heart. Next year dh and I are planning on going on a 3 day cruise, hopefully we'll be able to and I won't be as much of a cry baby lol and neither will he. Have fun and take lots of pics!
We haven't yet but we will. I'm going to a conference next year (I'm a SAHM but I'm maintaining my professional certification) and we're going to turn it into a mini vacation. At first I wanted to bring the kids but I know alone time will be good for our marriage. I'll be freaking out a little but I'll try to hide it from my husband ?
Lol wow, what on Earth is wrong with taking a kid-free vacation!? Seriously, we are parents every single day of the year, what is wrong with taking a few days or a week every once in awhile to rekindle the romance in your relationship and enjoy life? I did not imagine that anyonewould have a problem with that lol. Our parents took kid-free vacation sometimes when we were kids, and they also took us on vacations. No big deal. It is not the end of the world to spend time away from your children, and it does not in any way to make you a bad parent LMAO. Enjoy your trip! It's going to be a blast!
I'm totally jealous of the vacation girl! Go and have fun. My parents watch my 2 every other Sunday for me and my SO to spend about 7/8 hours together. If we had this opportunity I'd take it too!
There's always those people "my child is 1736387276 months old and I've never left their side. You're a terrible parent for wanting alone time. I love my child more than you do yours because we are completely attached at all times!" ????
I always thought I'd never be able to vacation without my daughter. Now that I'm nearing the end of my second pregnancy I'm already preparing for a kid free vacation! I think time alone as a couple is so mandatory, and as long as you know your LO is going to be in good hands I say dust that mom guilt off your shoulders and get your vacation on!
Please....when our parents come into town and give us date nights which is extremely RARE..you better believe we're out the door✌lol. So imagine if it was a romantic getaway✌lol! I mean yes truthfully we'd take a little vacation trip with our daughters first as a family or plan an amazing outing with them before we left but after that✌...if an opportunity came about where my husband and I can go on a romantic and fun vacation together no children, we'd absolutely accept. When my husband and I get alone time out we reminise like it's 2011, flirt, relax and have a great time with each other. We LOVE our girls but mommy and daddy need time to.
Have a great time Op!!
For the haters on here my child is 21 months old so she doesn't even know we're on a beach without her. We also took her on vacation with us earlier this year so it's not like we never take our child ?. I didn't know being parents meant we could never do anything for us anymore. It will be good for SO and I to have alone time.
Thanks to the others wishing a good time. It's my gift from my SO for graduating with my bachelors degree back in May.
Never have but holy could do I ever feel like I need a nice vacation sometimes. Enjoy it girl. As long as your kids are in good hands and your phone works over there you'll be fine!
