They will put you to sleep. You won't feel or remember anything. I had IV sedation, and a gas sedative. They open your cervix and remove everything from your uterus. When you wake up you will probably have some bleeding and cramping. The recovery time doesn't tend to last long at all, for the rest of the day relax, I stayed in bed and the day after you will likely be able to get back to normal activities.

As far as emotional support, this is important. If you feel the need, take part in anything offered to you.

I had one. I recovered nicely. I was worried but everything was fine. You will be ok.

I had one with my first pregnancy. I was not put to sleep, only local anesthetic and pain meds. It hurt a lot and recovery took a few days. I had the procedure done on a Friday morning and back to work Monday. Just take it easy and don't over do it. It's tough emotionally, but gets easier as time passes.

I'm sorry?. I had one a few years ago. I couldn't carry my son for the time being which was so hard to explain to a 1 year old that mommy can't hold or carry you . Your body will recover usually in a week or so but everything else will take a while to come into terms with it.

But over a year later I became blessed with my rainbow child who is now 17 months old!

I've had 2, they put you to sleep( I think the first pp explained everything). My dr gave me pills to stop the bleeding. After my 2nd d&c I went to work the next day. Physically it's a piece of cake, emotionally, not so much.
