You should try the copper one I have that one and it's awesome except for when I get my period I have horrible cramps for like 2 or 3 days not even prescribed pain mess helped but that's because my cramps were really bad before getting it. Other than that it's awesome though and no hormones and last longer than Mirena.

The mirena is the devil. I had the same issue with acne. I had mine taken out earlier this month, and I'm still waiting for my skin to clear up.

I got the Mirena a few years ago and had to have it removed that same evening. It caused me to literally want to commit suicide. It was so bad. The doctor had me go back immediately. He said it was rare but did happen. Never again.

My Ob's nurse told me I could remove it myself if I could reach far enough to grab the strings. I was too terrified to do that though so I waited for my appointment. but I read a lot of stories online of women doing it or having their partners do it with no problem.

I would never recommend you taking it out yourself on the off chance it has decided to wander. But I wish I had just taken mine out.

I took my own out.... It was easy and painless. Just pull on the string and out of comes far easier than expected. The hardest part is getting a good grip on the strings. I used a rubber glove to help get a better grip.

Oh that's annoying. Can you see a different Dr earlier that can help?

I have not had any issues with mine. It did take 6 months to become regular but there has been no adverse side effects thankfully.

Ugh! I feel your pain. I had to wait over a month for my appointment when I got it out. I felt trapped. It made me feel like hell. I got so desperate I tried to take it out myself but I couldn't find the strings. Which made me feel more trapped. I will never regret the day I got that mother f*** er out!

@mel that's exactly what I said yesterday to my friends that I felt trapped! Now it's Saturday so I'm sure all offices are closed until Monday anyways. Ugh just 2 more days!

I feel so bad for all these gals with iuds. My gyno will not use them. He hates them and says that they are more trouble than they're worth! Between the massive side effects, people getting pregnant and having to terminate, getting stuck and needing surgical removal, and I'm sure there's more! Stay away from these ladies!!!

Op could you go to a urgent care? I bet they can take it out for you and they are always open!
