I've worked in a grocery store and the meat department typically only packages meat this way in a "meal deal" pack if it's getting old and they've had to clean it and (occasionally) re-color it. Same thing with the pre-seasoned meats. Not to mention that when the hamburger meat starts to get old, they just re-grind it with the new beef.

Be careful buying prepackaged stuff like this. No telling how many times its been frozen and defrosted. You're better off getting it from an actual meat market with a butcher. Its safer, and cost usually about the same.

It's a lot cheaper to make at home too. You can buy more and pay less than you would for premade.

Roulades really aren't that hard or time consuming to make. I bet you would have no problem making these yourself op!
