2 teaspoon of purée (1/2 of the Gerber square container) with 3-4 table spoonful of rice/oatmeal/multi-grained cereal...mixed with breastmilk. He eats 3 times a day. Following by 2-4 oz of milk.
We are on 2nd foods of Gerber half container of oatmeal with fruits in the morning. And a whole container of peas, squash or sweet potatoes which ever I choose. And he's doing great. He has peaches for lunch. And 6 Oz formula 4 times a day.
My baby started purees at five months eating 1 teaspoon. 2 weeks later we eat a table spoon full. I'm just trying to introduce her to food. For my babies I prefer milk being the primary source of nutrition for now. Will increase when I believe she us ready :)
@tina that's why I asked because right now she eats half a jar at lunch half at dinner but she would eat more if I gave her more. She still takes the same amount of formula but she loves her fruit and veggies too.
What really matters at this age is that the amount of formula/breast milk doesn't really decrease. Their bodies aren't ready to get good nutrition from food yet and their diets aren't well rounded on solids only. That's why the recommendation is to give the formula or milk first and then give solids, don't use solids to replace or delay feedings yet. If baby is loving the purees and still getting the same formula I wouldn't worry about it!

@chipmunkmama
When does the milk intake decrease? Month 8 or 9? I know it's later.
