I agree with most of them but the waking after you put them to sleep was different. I like to put mine to bed drowsy but still partially awake which maybe the same outcome the doctor was taking about.

Maybe I missed it but the biggest things I think are getting all their calories in during the day and have good naps to help their nighttime sleep.

I know I should put bub into cot when she's drowsy and not to feed her to sleep... But she just won't fall asleep on her own unless she's really exhausted (has only happened about 3/4 times since birth)... Sometimes it's just easier to feed her to sleep and then put her down so I can get her to sleep as much as possible. I know I'm creating bad habits.. Just not sure how to fix it without getting an overtired cranky baby that won't sleep.... ?

The waking up part makes me nervous because I already have a hard time putting her down to sleep without her waking up right when I lay her down.

I agree with the waking up soon after they sleep. It's hard enough getting baby down. And then what if they stay up??!! ??

The good thing about the internet is that you can find a sleep expert that agrees with what you do if you look hard enough!!

My expert of choice is dr. James Mckenna he is an anthropologist so I think it gives him a unique perspective. But his research on infant sleep is pretty interesting and spot on with what I experience.
