Parents of only one gender!!
Parents of only one gender!!
Do u ever get upset that u only have one gender of children?!? I have 2 boys and I would love to have had a girl but it just wasn’t in the cards for me. I love my boys with all my heart and soul but I often think about what it would be like to have a little girl of my own!! I have plenty of nieces but not a girl of my own!! I feel like I’ll be missing out on all sorts of stuff ya know?! I’m not having anymore children. I have permanent birth control so having another isn’t an option. Just want to know that hopefully I’m not the only one feeling this way

No one really?!? Am I a bad person for feeling this way?!?

I’m not planning on having another child, so my daughter is the one and only. I don’t really feel bad about just having her or like I’m missing out on anything by not having a son. When I found out I was pregnant, I wanted a son. That ultrasound said girl and I was so happy that it didn’t even matter that I wasn’t going to have a boy. I can see how you would feel like you’re missing out tho.

Yea I mean I’m missing out on all the fun girly stuff that I would love to do with a daughter!! Like getting our nails done, dress shopping etc. I know I chose To stop at 2 boys and I’m ok with that. It’s just I get a little sad sometimes thinking of all that stuff

I only have a boy and i love him more than anything. im not having anymore children but sometimes i think how fun it would be to have a little girl. All the cute dresses. Someone to braid their hair. But youre definitely not the only one.

Following.
I’ll be having 2 boys as well. We only wanted two kids max, and dh and I are now debating on honoring that or risking it and trying for the 3rd in hopes of a little girl. He’ll be getting a vasectomy. So we have to decide soon ish ?

I have one boy. If we have another child, I’d want another boy. I just hope he stays close to me when he’s an adult.

I have 3 boys and theres days when I think the same it would nice to go shopping or watch a girly movie with a daughter......but the other part of me really enjoys being the only lady in the house

I don’t really feel like I’m missing out. I have wondered what it’d be like, but at the same time I’m so used to having girls that a boy would truly throw me for a loop ?
I’m enjoying being a girl mum. When the teen years are here it’ll probably change just a little. ??♀️ but I love me girls

We have two boys.
We decided to try again and are now having twins ? hoping for at least one girl!

We have two girls, they’re amazing and I wouldn’t trade them for anything. Sometimes I wonder what it would be like to have a boy but it doesn’t really bother me that I don’t have one. It bothers me more when people comment about it ? my girls are perfect, it’s not “sad” for my husband to have two healthy, happy girls, nor is it sad for you not to have a girl, our families are perfect ❤️
Kind of related, one of my patients asked me about my family and I told her about my girls and she said “I have five boys, girls are awful and I’m so glad I have boys” ? I almost lost my cool. Who the efffff says something so rude and hurtful?! I cant even with that bullshat.

I have two boys and I absolutely love it. 99% of the time I don't even think about what it would be like to have a little girl. But occasionally I'll walk past some adorable girls clothes at Target or see a mom and daughter out shopping together and I'll feel a little pang of longing for a daughter. I think it's normal.
Ss3mom·
Ok just as long as I’m not the only one I feel much better about it lol!! Again I love my boys so much it hurts sometimes. But the what if’s I had a girl pop into my head sometimes. They are both very happy and healthy little boys so that I’m grateful for

Think of it this way: just having a girl won't guarantee you do all of those things. Yes, you can buy cute dresses and stuff when she's little, but not all girls are going to be into that. I was a tomboy and my daughter prefers playing the dirt to playing with dolls (which i am totally ok with.)

I have 2 girls and love it. It’s exactly what I hoped for. God knew I wouldn’t be able to handle a boy! And luckily for my husband, our oldest is more of a tomboy and loves dinosaurs, superheroes, and Star Wars so they get to do a lot of fun things together. My 2nd is my girly girl.

I’ve got two boys and have my tubes tied. God knew I was meant to be a boy mom and I wouldn’t have it any other way ?. However I do love little girl clothes lol

I have 2 girls (well I'm still pregnant with one of them) and I feel like I am not ment to have a boy. My SO has a son from a previous relationship so at least we have him

I'm opposite, I will have two girls. My husband's while family is boys and we would really like one but we also can't keep trying until that happens

I have two boys. I’d love to have a girl one day.

YES. It actually shatters my soul. I hope it doesn’t make anyone a bad person because I openly admit it REALLY upsets me. I have 3 boys. I never really cared until I was done having babies and it hit me that I will go my entire life not knowing what it’s like to be mother & daughter. But I would 57 boys before I had a girl so I just stopped at what I could handle. I love my boys, they are great but ?? my heart longs for a girlie.

Yes! It was hard to feel happy for friends when they would announce that they were having girls. I would honestly have to hide my pain and jealousy but it got better over time. It seems like as soon as I decided to be okay with it I found out I’m getting my girl after all ❤️ life works in weird ways. I would try to enjoy the moments with those little girls close to you even though they aren’t “yours”

I have 4 girls. I have no clue what I would do with a boy at this point. Lol
deleted-user·
Our first was a girl so naturally we wanted a boy for baby number 2. Baby number 2 ended up being s girl as well. I was slightly disappointed at first but now that she is here I’m so in love with her. We only want 2 children so there will be no boys. It does make me kind of sad but i think this is the perfect family for us now.

I feel the exact same way you do I have 2boys and will not have anymore. I see a bond with my niece and sister that is much different that I will never have
deleted-user·
Nope I have 2 boys and I'm pregnant. I hope this one is a boy too!
deleted-user·
Yes i have two boys 6years and 2years i would love to try agian sometime in the future 5-10 years from now lol.
But what if it's another boy?
deleted-user·
Yup! I have 3 boys and have had 3 losses. We are trying for another and hope that we have a girl. I totally know the feeling of feeling like your missing out. I want that mother daughter relationship. I want to be able to have mother daughter dates that I wouldn’t be able to do with my boys. I love my boys to pieces and wouldn’t trade them but totally know where your coming from. Your definitely not the only one.

I sometimes wish i had a girl but my boys are so fun lol
deleted-user·
Just think y'all get your girls with your grandkids lol. Its not for sure but it's something to look forward to.

I have 4 girls and am luckily 16 weeks pregnant with my baby boy!
deleted-user·
I have 2 boys and have the exact same feelings as you. I don't know if I'll be content with just my boys, I constantly wonder what a little girl would be like and always look at girl clothes and toys. My husband says he's done he's always wanted his 2 boys and that's it. I have my days where these boys drive me up the wall and I don't think I want another so I go back and forth with am I done or not
deleted-user·
No advice but I have one of each. However must I say your boys are handsome. Much love mama.

I have three girls. We so badly wanted dd1 to be a boy. Of course that wasn't the case. When we found out we were having twins we thought for sure our chances of getting a boy were higher. Nope. We still think about maybe one day trying again for a boy but that won't be anytime soon. I'm waiting for the call to get my Nexplanon put in still so there's that. I struggle with the thought of not ever having a boy more often than I care to admit honestly. ?
