Any kids with ear tubes??
Ok so my son he's now 4 had ear tubes placed last March. I swear we have had nothing but problems since his tubes were placed. He's had 3 ear infections since. Countless times I've taken him to the pediatrician because of ear pain and he's had wax blocking or in the tube!!! I'm getting very frustrated at this point about these damn tubes. I thought once they were placed there wouldn't be any more infections or issues with his ears but it's all the time. Please tell me I'm not the only one?!?!

My daughter has had them since August (she's 6) she hasnt had one issue, but everytime we give her a bath we use these putty like ear plugs, she doesnt lay down in the water and it completely keeps it out. We bought a new shower head to rinse her hair. We were told if thats happening, either bring her back as sometimes the tubes reject and fall out without any notice, or water. If its due to water they usually just give you a prescription of ear drops. Also, we tried all different types of ear plugs for bathing and none seemed to stay in her, the putty works best.
Our doctor had mentioned for some children it takes 2,3,4 or more surgeries in order to be successful, maybe that could be the problem? Sorry you're dealing with this.

My cousin, she just turned 7, but when she was 4, she already had 4 sets of tubes in her ears. She kept always getting infections. But after that 4th set, she hasn't complained sence.

My son had trouble with wax so we got the wax kit and use that every now and again. With tubes it has helped my son. I don't think they completely get rid of infections they just help it drain. Is he going to a ear nose throat dr? If so go there. try the wax ear plugs during bath and swimming.

No he doesn't get much water in his ears. I'm just getting frustrated by the whole thing now!! And my youngest has had 2 ear infections since Black Friday so like 3 weeks!!! We will be talking about tubes for him I guess
