Growing pains
So my son will be 4 on 11/22 he keeps complaining that his legs hurt. Could he be having growing pains? At what age does this usually happen? He's been saying this for a few days now. What can I do for him?

It could be. Try deep heat? Lots of water. I'm not to sure otherwise stretching exercises may help. I haven't studied this area sorry

I had it really bad growing up to the point of screaming it hurt so bad. My mom took me to the er and they said it was just from growing and nothing was wrong. My favorite cartoons, a leg rub, and some Tylenol fixed it.

Thanks ladies I did give him some Motrin just before bed. He was almost crying in pain. I read that it can happen more so right before bed but usually goes away by morning. He has his 4 year check up in 2 weeks so I'm definitely going to talk to his dr and let her know. And get a good check up. Thanks for the responses. I did do a little massage while laying down before bed too. He enjoyed that for sure

I think bananas are supposed to help with leg pain and cramps..?

@ss3mom- my 4 year old has leg cramps badly! I has to take him to hospital because he would not walk for almost 2 days! I was scared. At the hospital they did xrays , a ton of different test. Everything came back fine.
Before the issue with taking him to hospital his doctor was aware. She also did testing & said he was fine. He would have them 2 times a week or so. They have calmed down alot.
Only thing that worked was ibuprofen. After about 30 minutes it kicked in and he went back to sleep. Kate giving medicine , butt he is in so much pain. He will scream and cry!
I would take him to be seen , just to make sure everything is okay with him.

Ask the doctor if he would recommend an epsom salt bath for him. Also definitely do Motrin when he really needs the relief. In my opinion it's way more effective because it's actually an anti-inflammatory and not just pain relief.

I suffered with the same thing as a small child.i remember crying myself to sleep a lot of nights. I don't have any advice as I still get it now at 25. Hope he grows out of it soon ❤️
