I just looked up thrush I don't think that what it is. My guys has 6 teeth already. Maybe it's just his teeth scraping my nipple. He hasn't been nursing more frequently but of course he seems to want to nurse on that side more. Ouch it kills

Well sometimes it can be painless. And if both nipples are red it's most likely thrush ? I called an LC when I first got it so they could confirm and they said if your nipples are bright red it's thrush there's really no reason for you to have to come in. But use coconut oil it heals and if it is thrush it'll help that as well

This may be unrelated but when I was EBF my first daughter around 5 mos of age my nipples started hurting...nothing changed, she was nursing the same, just sore all of a sudden. I had that too. It was a bacterial infection. Took an antibiotic ointment called fucidin. Worked perfectly.
