I was on Lovenox, then Arixtra, and finally heparin when I got to 36 weeks. I was induced but only because my water broke at 36+5. Why are you bring induced instead of just switching to Heparin? It stays in your system a much shorter amount of time.

I'm on lovenox too due to multiple genetic disorders, mainly the ones related to blood clotting, and three miscarriages. I was told the shots are for baby first trimester, both of us second and me this trimester due to leg clots leading to potential embalism.

The two high risk obs I have both explained the same three things IRT delivery options: 1) stay on lovenox and do without epidural or spinal anesthesia 2) switch to heparin two weeks or so before to increase change of healing epidural because heparin is short acting and can be reversed or 3) schedule induction and stop lovenox two to three days before.

Hope this makes sense. I know I'm tired of the daily shots and bruises already and I'm still in my first trimester. Good luck ladies.

Inductions aren't that bad. Don't feel defeated! Try to see the positives...you'll know when you're baby is coming, family can be there to support you, you'll be monitored the whole time. My induction only lasted 6 hours and I did it pain med free. Good luck to you!

I have to be on Lovenox my entire pregnancy through to 6 weeks PP.

I'll have to stop the Lovenox 24hrs before birth, to help minimize risk of hemorrhage and start back again 24hrs after and stay on it until 6wks PP.

I have 3 blood clotting disorders and had to start injections the day I found out I was pregnant.

I was on Lovenox from weeks 14-36 then switched to Heparin. Wonder why they have to induce?

Awww... I've had a high risk pregnancy too and I've seen 5 doctors weekly for the past few months... it's been a bumpy road, but you're absolutely right - as long as we're doing what's best for baby, that's what matters most!
