Fever with no other symptoms...Helo!
Cameron has been running a fever since yesterday afternoon. Started off at 101. Gave him Advil and it went down. Once it was time for next dose it went up to 102.4. Gave him another dose last night and he woke up at 99.9. It then shot up again now to 101.8. I'm worried he has no other real symptoms and I don't want to keep giving him Advil. The only thing that has happened is he will throw up a little when taking the Advil cause he is not a fan of it. I had called his doctor and she said it's likely something viral and to try to keep temp under control and if it doesn't get better in 48hrs to bring him in.....she says fever might not be breaking cause he is not taking full dose if he throws up some after. Idk I'm worried and just want him to feel better. Has anyone else experienced this?

I have. Melody was like this for 3 days went down for a day and then happened again for another few days. It was viral infection so I just gave her Tylenol every 6 hours. Eventually it went away but I was really scared too and just wanted her better. She was so hot to touch but had no other symptoms. Just make sure he stays hydrated and has wet diapers. Hope he feels better soon mama. ?

Macey was just like that! I took her in and she had a double ear infection and a throat infection they didn't check it to see if it was strep just have her antibiotics 4 times a day for two weeks

My son had a 102-104 fever for 3 days I kept calling the Dr and they kept telling me it was viral. He told me as long as the fever went down even a degree it was fine. I gave him Motrin the Tylenol didn't work. Good luck it was a sleepless few nights.

Thanks ladies. I am taking him to PM pediatrics today since it hasn't gotten any better. The fever comes back every 6 hrs. And his pediatrician office is closed. So hopefully they will tell me something at the urgent care

This was us last week. Fever but diarrhea. The fever finally went away and now we are dealing with a cough.

He is still the same. There was no ear infection no throat infection. Urine analysis came back fine as well. All I was told was to alternate between advil and Tylenol and try to keep him hydrated. Getting him to take fluids is now becoming an issue cause he is do cranky now.

Did you try putting onions in his socks at night. Worked for us

@cmurphy no I never heard of that. He was fever free today for the first time in five days. I'm going to watch and see if it were to come back in will give the onions a try.... Now hebhas a rash all over his face and neck ?

Mas has the same thing, took him to hospital after 103 fever wouldn't break, it's a rhinovirus so just keeping fever down and fluids was all we could do! Rashes are very common when viruses leave the system so that's a great sign!!
