Baby gagging when eating diff textures....
Anyone have this my sons only want to take smooth purees. I tried giving them cream of wheat this morning and all they did was gag and refuse it after awhile. But once I switched to their normal baby food there was no problems. Any one have this?

If I remember right, a baby's gag reflux is in the middle of their mouth, and as they eat more food it will slowly move to the back of their mouth. With my oldest, she would gag a lot when we first introduced foods. We did baby led weaning so she was exposed to solid foods from the start. It was scary when she did gag, but it's normal and as long as you know the diffference between choking then he will be fine. But unlike your little one, she would continue eating, maybe he's just not ready yet. With my May baby we also started with baby led weaning and she took to it like a pro and never gagged. It just depends on the baby.

Yea.I experience this with my boy.But after a while,he eats perfectly and finishes his meal.

Yes my son does this when he eats avocado, mango and scrambled eggs and oatmeal. Everything else he is fine when he eats it. I do baby led weaning, so his food is solid not pureed. He will just start to make this face and open his mouth and I usually know what's going to happen next so I just hold open his bib and catch the vomit lol

That's exactly why we did BLW. I read too many stories of people doing purees and the baby's could only do them.
