Saw cardiologist.... more confused now
I went to see the cardiologist yesterday and I have a resting heart rate of 125 bpm. She did ekg and echo and could not find the cause for increased heart rate. Now I have to go to a pulmonary dr to see if there are not any blood clots on my lungs.

That's scary. I still haven't got in to see my doctor. But I found a cool app on my phone that monitors my heart rate. Also do u do yoga or meditation? I found if I can get into a real relaxation my hr goes down to 80 BPM but if I stretch or move around it spikes to 150bpm.

It's good that there were no PACs or PVCs that would indicate intrinsic cardiac arrhythmias on the ecg. Usually an arrhythmia will make an Ecg show anomalies such as the extra beats or skipped beats. Not sure about the pulmonary embolism theory though. Hoping you get the all clear from the pulmonary docs and things start to settle down.

The app I have is called heart rate. I can be resting for an hour and my hr is still at 120. I'm scared to check it while I'm walking around. I see my doctor on the 22 so I hope he will refer me.
Have you had your 20 week scan? I get mine next week and I'm so nervous something will be not right

You should make sure they test your thyroid. It's really common for the hormones in pregnancy to mess up your thyroid. Hyperthyroidism will make your heart rate increase.

I agree with making sure to get your thyroid checked. When my sister was hyperthyroid her resting heart rate was over 150. Some other possibilities I can think of is having an infection-- if you have a fever or are fighting something, your heart rate could be elevated. Also, if your iron and hemoglobin is low, your heart would have to beat faster to keep up. They can also do a 24 heart monitor to check for anything that may not have shown up on the other scans. Good luck and try not stress too much! You'll be ok

Agree with Rowill ask about a monitor or an event recorder. I had to wear one when I was pregnant with my first daughter to confirm that my pacemaker was at EOL (end of life) and had to be replaced. I had to keep a log book of my symptoms and what I was doing.

Thanks ladies. I spoke to my MFM and he was like he wants to look at cardiologist report first prior to determining course of treatment.
He said he doubts my having a blood clot since I have no other discomfort. He recommended a lung dr for me to see just in case but he said that going to the ER is not necessary.

@loveyah I haven't had my 20 wk scan yet. That won't be until right before Christmas
