LEFT AND RIGHT OVARY Has anyone ever experienced one ovary producing follicles and the other not…

I’ve done two ivf cycles, and both times they only managed to retrieve from my left ovary. My right one just wasn’t developing any follicles. Luckily the left one gave me 11 eggs the first time, and 15 the second, but I do wish my right one was working, as it would’ve given me a few more mature eggs. Only had one blastocyst the first time and two blastocysts the second. They couldn’t do anything to stimulate the right one into working ?. Hopefully your left one will be very active and give you lots of good eggs.

I think that is pretty normal. My right ovary does most the work. My left only made a few eggs while the right made 10.

I️ had this problem. My right ovary seemed to be the dominant producer but I️ lost my right tube from an ectopic pregnancy. We only figured this out when we tried 3 iuis and my right ovary produced quality follicles but the left did not. Obviously that was a problem because the eggs being released had nowhere to go. We did a round of ivf after that with more meds for stim and had the same outcome - my right produced more than my left. Unfortunately we only got three eggs and embryos out of that cycle and it was unsuccessful. We did a longer protocol our second round of ivf so stim was 6ish weeks vs 4. Shockingly, my left ovary dominated that cycle and I️ am now 36 weeks pregnant with twin girls. I️ think most people have a dominant ovary and sometimes it takes a bit of time for the other one to "take a turn." Talk to your re about a longer protocol!

Thanks littlebit! Hope your 36 weeks have been great! Yes, RE had to stim me for another day further so stimming for total of 11 days now to prolly trigger tonight( waiting on phonecall). By my u/s today, 6 follies on left and 2 on right. Surprisingly another extra follie grew btw ystday today on my right. It's just so funny how unpredictable human body works. Therefore , it makes sense to me what you said about a longer protocol. Hopefully and praying this cycle gives me my rainbow ? otherwise longer protocol will have been the best for me.
