EARRINGS! For moms with girls, will you be piercing their ears? If so, when?

Hubby and I just had this conversation lol. We agreed we are going to wait until she is old enough to tell us she wants her ears done . So whether she is 2, 7,10 or older I’m waiting for it to be her decision.

I will be getting my baby girls ears pierced soon as she’s old enough.

I heard a lot of people do it at 2 months after shots. This is my 1st girl so I was curious to know what other mamas are doing. I can't wait for little earrings ?

Where I’m from they usually do it around 1 to 2 months but my sister in law had my niece ears pierced at 3 years old and it didn’t hurt her lol I’m going to wait after I see her doctor next week and maybe get them done if not then when she is older

Nope, my first daughter doesn't have hers done and won't until she's old enough to say she wants it , she's 3 and still hasn't had interest in them, thinking she will want it more around when my step daughter asked for them (9) . Just a personal choice.

I’m doing my daughter’s at 2 months after shots like I did with my other daughter I can’t wait ? always better to do it young that way they won’t complain about the pain or tug at the ears. And once they are old enough to grab they will not pull them because they are used to it.

Possibly 3 months cause I only know a place that does them in another state so I’ll wait till I visit my parents. My other daughter was 1 and it didn’t bother her when I got hers done

I never understood getting your babys ears pierced personally.?‍♀️ My parents gave me the option as my 13th birthday present and I'm sure that's how we'll do it for our daughter.

Nope. I also have an almost 3 year old and both girls will choose when and if they get their ears pierced. I have LOTS of piercings and definitely not opposed to babies having them but I would like a tattoo shop to do it and not Claire's.

I wouldn’t ever take a baby to Claire’s to do ears!

My Drs office actually pierces the ears. Thankfully.

And a tattoo shops won’t pierce a babies ear either. Only if they can consent to saying yes theirselves they will do it. At least in my state

My girls are 4 and 6 and I decided to wait and allow them to make the choice themselves.. I didn’t get a choice and mine were done before I was a year.. I don’t ever wear earrings ??‍♀️

My oldest daughter (16) had hers done when she was 4yo as she asked for them. My second daughter hasn't ever had hers pierced (she's 5) but has never mentioned wanting earrings and my new baby daughter won't have hers done either unless she asks for them. My son had one of his ears pierced around 5/6 but wanted it out not long afterwards and hasn't wanted it ever again lol. I leave it up to my kids to decide ?

I did my first daughter’s ears when she turned 1 and let me tell you... it was a DISASTER! Either wait until their old enough or do it while they are young and can’t pull away and hurt themselves. I’m going to do my newborn’s ears when she’s about 3 months old. If I don’t by then, then I’ll just leave it till she’s old enough

We are waiting until she asks for it like my parents did with me. They made it an exciting day out just for me.

I recommend going to a tattoo/piercing shop, not Claire's. I got an infection even though i took very good care of my ears, as an adult ive gotten pierced at shops multiple times and have never had an issue.

I don't plan to do it until she's old enough to want it or ask for it. I just don't feel comfortable having them done as a baby. I worked at Claire's and pierced many babies ears and I absolutely hated it... I never understood why parents wanted to do that to their babies... I can hardly handle shots let alone piercing her ears for appearance.

Nope. Her body, her choice. She can make or not make the choice when she CAN make the choice.

My mom gave me the choice and I had them done around 12. It hurt and I could only sleep on my back for a couple of days which was horrible. I wish she would have done them when I couldn’t remember!

No I rather when she is old enough to make that decision

I will wait my baby girl is old enough to decide by herself ;)
