Nighttime potty training
Nighttime potty training
Help! My daughter just turned 3 in September and she's been daytime potty trained for about a year. She was doing really well at night for a while, but for the past month and a half or so she has literally wet the bed every single night. I have tried limiting her water intake before bed and I recently started waking up a couple times a night to go potty. Waking her up to go potty has actually created more work for me, because she ends up wetting the bed twice at instead of just once. If I don't get her up at all, she will pee at some point through the night and sleep through it until morning. Some mornings she feels dry, but has clearly urinated because she smells like pee. I am at my wit's end with washing her bedding every day. I was wondering if anyone had any helpful suggestions? I haven't tried to pull-ups yet...I kind of feel like they are a waste of money because she's not getting up to pee so they would basically be used as a more expensive version of a diaper. She hasn't worn diapers in about a year, and I don't know if I need to start putting her back in them at night. We cloth diaper, but she's getting pretty big for them. I'm just not sure what to do.

Could she have pinworms? Parasites are pretty common , especially in children and they can cause problems with peeing the bed. If not, I suggest diapers or maybe one of those bed sheets to protect the mattress against pee. It doesn't sound like she's doing it on purpose, just that she's having trouble waking up to go. Have there been any changes in her life?

Her little brother was born 6 months ago, that's the only major change. I have a mattress protector on the bed, and I also put a folded up towel underneath her. I still end up having to wash the towel and the sheets every day though. Hm, I never thought about pinworms. It's weird though, because sometimes when she's just laying in her bed she will pee while she's still awake. She literally just did that an hour ago when I put her down for her nap. I don't understand ? She has a little potty in her room

It's normal for night training to take longer because it's hormone development which helps them wake up. Limiting liquids and waking them up doesn't help if they haven't fully developed the ability to wake themselves which can take up to age 6.
My son was day trained in 3 days at 2 1/years. He didn't night train until 4 when he decided he was too big for pull ups. Save yourself the stress and washing for now. She'll get it.

My son who will be 5 in a week started peeing the bed again after about a year of no accident's. I took him to the dr and it turned out he was severely backed up so he couldn't help it his pee was being pushed out in his sleep. While he was awake though he would pee very frequently like every 45 minutes to an hr.
