Newborn nighttime diaper changes
Hello ladies! I am 36 weeks with baby #2. We cloth diapered our 2.5 year old, but didn't start until she was around 6 months old. This will be my first time cloth diapering a newborn. This may be a silly question, but do you change your newborn/infants diaper every time they wake up in the middle of the night? I always did when we used disposables with our daughter, but I feel like the cloth might be more absorbent. The reason I ask is because the baby will be sleeping in a co-sleeper in our room and the changing table is in the nursery. I would like to avoid having to bring the baby to a different room to change him/her because it kind of defeats the purpose of co-sleeping ?

I always changed because they always pooped at every diaper change. I think it stopped about a month old. My third baby has slept through the night since 5 days old so I never changed her during the middle of the night.

I personally believe every newborn should be changed when they wake regardless of the type of diaper. So if they wake a lot you change a lot if they sleep a lot you change less.

Also instead of changing in a different room why not just keep diapers in your room and change on your bed.

I change her every time she's wet but if she's sleeping I won't wake her for it. I tried doing changes in the bed but it was too difficult trying to be quite and see so I just bring her to her room now.

I change my daughter (2wks) at night. About every 2-4 hours at night. She is still pooping at night, so she definitely needs to be changed.
We also co sleep and the changing table is in the other room. At first I was going back and forth. But now I just bring diapers and a small wet bag to bed. The only thing that's annoying is the wipes.. I use cloth wipes and have a warmer in her room. So I just bring them wet already for the night changes.

Yup change when they wake at least till they stop night pooping. I changed on my bed. We would sometimes go through 5 diapers a night (ya know as soon as you put one on they poop lol)

I change at night. I just grab a few diapers and a wet bag to keep handy.

I did up until maybe 3 months? Once he stopped pooping at night. Honestly my lo was such a horrible sleeper until just a few weeks ago (he's one) that changing him wasn't worth the risk that I would be up for the next 6+ hours lol

I changed every nappy change until 8 weeks when he wasn't pooping all the time. I just take the change bag to save taking him in another room. Now he only needs changed if he poops (11 weeks old) so I take wipes, nappy and wet bag now instead of a full change bag
