Help! Thirsties duo wrap size 1 for newborn?
Hello ladies! To make a long story short, we started cloth diapering our first baby when she was six months old and have only used bumGenius 4.0s because we have loved them. Baby #2 is due in May and I really want to use cloth diapers from birth, but I know nothing about CDing a newborn. I know that our current stash of one size pocket diapers probably won't probably fit for a little while, so I'm looking for an affordable way to get him/her from birth to about 12 lbs. I'm looking into getting some size one Thirsties duo wraps, but I have never used covers before. IVientiane wash my 2year olds diapers twice a week (every 3-4 days) and I don't want to have to wash them much more often than that. How many should I buy? Do you recommend fst's, flats, or something else? Again, I will just be using them until baby can fit into the BG 4.0's(: My daughter was 8 lbs 5oz at birth and weighed 13lbs by the time she was 7 weeks old.

Might I suggest FST's (10 pack at walmart for $7.88!) and the thirsties diaper covers in xsmall (fits 6-12 lbs) or small (12-18)?
Thirstiesoutlet.com has some good deals.
You can get a bunch that way and be able to still do laundry twice a week.
My daughter used to blow through her diaper covers so fast- she pooped so much. I had 4 covers and 17 or 18 AIO's- I did laundry every other day.
The thirsties xsmall covers and bummis xsmall wrap covers (velcro is nice for newborns as opposed to snaps) with fst's or prefolds are what I used. We also used the bg littles and some homemade AIO's and pockets.
If hubby and I have another baby I want a minimum of 8 diaper covers.

Thank you! I ended up buying 10 do wrap size ones today, I'm trying to figure out if I should buy some xs too. My first baby was 8lb 5oz
