Hcg results
Since I had a chemical pregnancy in July, my midwife gave me the option of checking my hcg levels for peace of mind. The first blood draw was last Friday when I was 5w5d and my hcg was 13,487. I went back in on Tuesday for the second draw at 6w2d and I just got the result: 33,526! I am so relieved that my levels are increasing appropriately. I'm not going in for an ultrasound until I'm 10 weeks, which is still over 3 weeks away so I'm so thankful I got to at least check my hcg. I just hope and pray that everything continues to progress as it should. Congrats to all of the other May mommies out there, I have loved seeing all of your ultrasounds! Here's to a h&h pregnancy for all of us!

Why at 10 weeks if you don't mind me asking? At 6weeks did she think it was to early or just wanted a few more weeks before doing one

My first actual appointment isn't scheduled until I'm 12 weeks along... My midwife doesn't do first appointments until you're 10-12 weeks. I'm going to a women's center for the ultrasound because they offer a free first trimester ultrasound. My midwife doesn't do ultrasounds at her office, but she has someone who can come into the office to do them later on off we want another one. I could technically go in earlier, but I'm trying to hold out longer because I'm not telling my family I'm pregnant until mid-November, even my neither and sister will be visiting. I thought it would be harder for me to keep it a secret if I did the ultrasound earlier. The hcg results made me feel a lot better that things are progressing (so far) and I figured we'd probably be able to see more if I waited until I'm 10 weeks.
