I don't know much about this but I do know is the only way they can do all that in such low budgets is because they don't have to pay for labor. If you add labor costs to any project it would be double if not more.

They have amazing credit scores and accessible cash for an investment. To get the houses they use; as-is, foreclosures, cash only sales, they have to have a readily available amount of savings to use and get back.

Yea that's the thing too they are able to do all this because they have the money.

We are doing a major addition/renovation...the financing aspect of it is a HUGE headache. Total cost, including permits, architect, etc is around $200k.

That said, we live in a town where the median house is over $550 and to get the size we need (having our 6th child), we'd be looking at a $700+k house with no yard, so financially our project pencils out. But its stressful and time-consuming.

Oh my gosh. My husband was wanting to build the house for less than that. But the median is a lot lower where we live so hopefully the cost to build is too.

I saw one show they added a deck for 200,000. Just a deck! Granted it was pretty cool but dang I can only imagine what the house would be.

My parents built their 5k square foot house for 300k, and my brother built his house 1800 square foot finished, and a 1600 square ft unfinished basement for 230k. My dad is an architect/general contractor though so they saved a little. It really all depends on your location. Price varies drastically from place to place.

I'd love to flip houses. I don't have money though lol. If I could find and investor..........
