So ny question is, why is my dr ordering another ultrasound next week. They confirmed at my appt where i learned babys heart stopped, that baby stopped growing at 9 weeks... i was 12 at my appt. Im so scared for that appt because i just dont wanna see a lifeless baby on that screen. So if i havent started bleeding by then...why are they going to do an ultrasound? I want to get a prescription for that pill that helps things along on monday..but idk. Im just scared for thursday!

I was in the same situation and had to do an ultrasound. The dr told me they may be able to see if anything is going to start moving out or not. I did ask the tech to turn off the screen. Hugs:(

They usually order it for peace sacks, and to make confirm the baby's size and location in case a D&C is required.
It's a good think to order a second ultrasound. Trust me.

Yeah they sometimes order a second one to confirm the baby died. I had one at 13 weeks that saw no heartbeat, but apparently they did one right before my D&C also. Thankfully I was either already sedated/sleeping or they gave me drugs so that I don't remember.
Seeing my baby, not moving with no heartbeat on that huge screen was terrible. Especially because one week before I had seen him/her kicking and moving around.
It's a good thing to confirm again. I would close my eyes though. That imagine is haunting.

Yeah, i hear you. I have nightmares qhen she did the doppler and couldnt find the heartbeat, then told me baby stoppwd growing 4 weeks ago, at 9 wks.. and seeing that lifeless child on the monitor .... i think i have some ptsd from it. I just dont wanna see that again. Ill cry and ive not cried today and wanna keep it that way.

They probably just want to be 100% sure before helping you complete the miscarriage. I would ask them to set up the screen so you don't see it.
I asked to see mine just because I am an ER nurse and used to morbid things. Plus I didn't believe the doctor at first.
