My 17 month old has been sick since Monday. She's thrown up everyday, including today. Today she's doing nothing but sleeping. I'm really worried about her. I took her to the dr and the did a strep test..which came back negative, and said it's most likely a 3 day virus. This has gone on for 5 days and she's still under the weather. I've offered pedialyte, bland foods... nothing really stays down. Pedialyte does in small doses but she's not eaten really since Tuesday! What she has eaten has come right up. Any ideas what virus this could be? Any ideas on how to help her recover quicker? I'm really concerned! Thanks in advance!

My 16 month old had something similar two weeks ago. She had on and off vomiting and diarrhea for 8 days. Just keep offering small amounts of Pedialyte, and track wet diapers. Keeping fluids down is more important than food.

I would call her dr and let them know she's still throwing up. Does she seem dehydrated? Is she still having wet diapers? Is there s fever too? I would let them know it's still going on with her and ask them to see her again.

8 days is such a long time! Bless.
We were there yesterday and he said if she's not better by Saturday to take her in. So I'll call before they close if she's still seemingly out of it.
She's still having some wet diapers. Definitely within the 8 hour window. She's not burned any fever nor had any diarrhea. Which is strange to me.

I hope she feels better soon! It's so frustrating when there's nothing we can do to make it go away faster!

I swear by probiotics. Even if it doesn't stop the vomiting it will help the G.I. tract return to normal

What brand do you get? I will try that! I bought yogurt the other day to get her tummy back on track but probiotics would probably work better than dairy!

Thank you! She just threw up again. Left a voicemail for the triage nurse to call me back! This is getting crazy.
And I will pick some up when hubby gets home!

When that happened to my kids the doc prescribed something for vomiting. It's like what they give mom's for nausea.

I was hoping he'd prescribe something like that. But he didn't prescribe a darn thing!
