advice please:)
Ok mamas. Here's our deal. Baby has her bedtime, it's been the same for a few months, of 8pm. It works really well. The past few nights, she's been waking up at 12:30/1:30 and wanting to play until 3:30am. Obviously, this isn't cool. If we push her bedtime later, she still wakes up to play. If I try to rock her, it's literally like trying to wrestle an alligator, if I try to bf, she bites... Last night, I ended up in the crib with her, when that did not work, I gave her a kiss, told her I loved her and left the room. We let her whine/walk in her crib/ cry for 40 minutes. It was so hard for me because we never have just let her cry. I ended up going in there at 2:30am and picking her up and bringing her to bed with me because I was super tired. How do yall handle situations like this. I know I let her win last night. If it happens tonight, what would yall recommend? Thanks in advance.

It must be a thing right now because LO is doing the same.
Bed at 8 up by 1-2 staying up till 3ish.
My LO isn't crying though she is playing like crazy never cry for us.
What I have done is put a few toys in the corner of her crib by her feet. So she has something to play with and eventually she plays herself to sleep.
Maybe try putting a toy like the stacking rings etc in there and see if that helps?! Good luck OP.

Our musical mobile has been our rock for several months. If she wakes through the night, the mobile turns on (sound activated). She will listen to the music and watch the lights. I also leave a small toy in the crib with her. She always talks herself back to sleep.
My LO is an amazing sleeper but I do let her cry it out if she's fussy unless her cries turn to horrible screams. Prayer helps too ☺️

I'm not sure if this will work for your baby but every time I try to get dd to lay down, I put some soft baby lullabies or baby mozart on for her. Less than 5 minutes, she's sleepy/falling asleep :)

Thanks for your advice ladies. We use a sound machine, I put some quiet toys in her bed, and none of it worked. I'm thinking it's a phase but it's really frustrating. It's the pen age span from 9 to 12 months I've not really worked with haha.

Maybe LO is teething? I know my LO has 4 back teeth trying to come in I just discovered today.
I hope she starts sleeping better for you soon.

Thank you. I thought of that. Do you think it'd be bad if I offered a half dose of motrin before bed to see if it helps if her teeth hurt?

I looked it up and there is an 11-12 month sleep regression. Definitely a phase. Hope it passes for you soon!
Longest sleep regression dd had was 8 days ?
Boy was i tired!

I would try some meds before bed and if she still wakes up tonight you can rule out teething! :) it'll help narrow it down at least.

Marc usually goes to bed about 930 and wakes up about two/three hours later and I just give him a bottle and the past few nights he is up at 3 or 4 and I take him out of his crib and play with him in his room and he goes to sleep about two hours later. Sometimes if he wakes up at 3 or 4 I put him in the bed with us with a bottle and he sleeps good but that doesn't help all the time so that's when I play with him to tire him out.

Ive given mine a dose of Tylenol before bed while she was teething and she slept like a champ.

Sleep regression is seriously hard and I'm sorry you're going through it but as a mom of two tiny people believe me when I say "this too shall pass". Now I know that doesn't help but here is what we do when our littles are fighting sleep. If it is during the night and their needs are met and they just won't fall/stay asleep we first give them time... This is dependent on the parents and what you personally want to do as far as how long but do discuss it with your partner and pick a limit that you can both agree on. Ours is 20 minutes. (Of course we do go in if there is the tell tale hurting cry but otherwise we are pretty strict with it) . If the 20 minutes passes one of us (the less stimulation the better) goes down and picks up the child (let's be honest... We smell their butt to be sure.. And are prepared to do a dimly lit in room diaper change if needed) we hug baby close and tell them we love them but now it's bedtime. Snuggle for a minute then lay them down and leave the room. That's when the countdown starts again. 20 min. (I set an alarm on my phone) . If baby is STILL at it after the time is up go down, pick child up and snuggle for a minute without talking at all, lay child down and walk out. Restart timer. If baby still refuses, try one more time going in their room no cuddles,no talking but lay baby back down and offer some soothing pats on back/belly depending on how they lay and walk out. .... My husband and I have only gotten to the last stage maybe three times between our two kids... They catch on very quickly!

I read on rants and raves a lady was having serious sleep regression issues with her LO too.
She tried "Badger- night night balm" is all natural organic oils in a balm that you place on temples under nose and shoulders to soothe to sleep. She said it worked amazing so I thought I would tell you!
