I loved my swing, as well as babywearing. The moby is great for a newborn. I just got a ring sling, which I love since I can use it for my one year old and the new baby. We also love our Tula.

Rock and play! You can't take anywhere in the house easily!

High chair. We have one that works from birth on. It's all convertible but great when we were eating our DD would lay in there and still be apart of the family.

Swing, car seat, baby wrap or carrier, swaddling blankets, breast pump, bassinet/crib were all the things I used for the first month probably. Other then clothes and hats and the little things.

As a second time mom, the thing I really need again is the baby snuza. It's a little monitor that hooks to their diaper. It sounds an alarm if there is no breathing for twenty seconds or so.

I'd wait on a swing and see if you can borrow one to test it out or buy one used. My DD loved one kind but hated the rest. I borrowed one that she hated. I'm glad I didn't buy it ahead of time. They are expensive and I would have wasted my $.

I'm on baby #3 and neither of my first 2 liked swings. This baby I getting a bouncer seat, a rock-n-play thing to keep next to my bed for baby to sleep in, a tummy time mat, a car seat/stroller set, a baby bath tub, and a high chair. Other than bottles, crib, essentials, etc. eventually I will buy a jumper (not the Johnny Jump up).

Out of curiosity, why do you have two car seats? I can understand having multiples of the bases, but if it's an infant seat, the car seat goes where baby goes.

If you're using the convertible seats, then disregard this.

I enjoyed "wearing" baby while doing chores around the house and even while out and about. So, I would suggest a baby wrap of some sort.

And for you mama, an electric breast pump if you plan to breast feed!!

My to go thing were moby wrap while baby was little, ergo carrier (love this), and my Boppy I used it all the time for breast feed, tummy time, just to lay them in to propped baby up, and to assist with sitting, and my pump. These are my I can't live with out! Pretty much from day one. :)

@jlsj - they were hand me downs that were given. I work in daycare , and parents had extras, so I got blessed with them.

Since those car seats are hand me downs make sure they aren't expired!

They arent. One expires 3 years from now, and the other 2. And they've never been in a wreck. :)

I bet there are a bazillion parents and your daycare that would love to part with their exersaucers;). I loved mine but hated how much space it took. Gave both of mine away and now pregnant again:). I am not coordinated enough to use the ring sling when my babies are small so I used the boba or moby wraps cuz my first had colic and that was the only wrap that he liked.

I can't decide between the Pack n Play or the Rock n Play.

People who review the Pack n Play warn of head deformities from the molded plastic. Others say the a Rock n Play is noisy.

It's overwhelming, all this research. Getting a masters degree wasn't this intense. (Ok, maybe it was a little...)

Lol! It is all overwhelming. I work with infants and thought I knew what we would need.... ha. Now I'm like well crap. I don't want a bunch of stuff that I never will need lol. overwhelming !

Where I live there's always these huge consignment sales by a few different companies there's on at least every two months or so. I plan to check at the February one to see what I can pick up as with any consignment it's hit n miss with quality but I need a new jumper seat and a double stroller :)

We have a few new consignment stores in the area I will definitely check into!

A good bouncer. They have a nice selfs bouncer at target. It's reg $55 I got mine $35 on sale.

We love our mamaroo swing and wish we hadn't wasted money on a bassinet.
