@pp yes! They use their wings to go from a tall surface to another or to scare the life out of people.

@mama yes yes they do. In Puerto Rico they get to the size of the palm of your hand. One flew in my hair in the rainforest....my family laughed as I ran screaming.

I live in South Carolina so we have the huge palmetto bugs (giant roaches) here. I've lived here 16 years and I only figured out they can fly about 6 months ago. I screamed like a little batch while my husband laughed at me. His comment? "I wasn't going to tell you they can fly, lol!" I hate these things!

When I was little my sister, my cousin and myself were trapped in the bathroom with one. We all stood on the toilet screaming. Funny now that i think about it but at the time I was afraid for my life lol
