My son is 1 year old and he has an ear infection and has cough, runny/stuffy nose, and fever (101). So is it normal for his back and tummy areas to be warmer than his cheeks and forehead?

Edit: He has also been very sleepy and threw up 2 times today. Is this normal for an ear infection?

I'd say it's more than an ear infection if he's throwing up. I got chronic ear infections as a child, and I didn't throw up for them. Maybe he's reacting to the antibiotics? Is the ear infection diagnosed by a doctor, or is it based on how he's acting? Maybe then it's a headache and a stomach bug?

Drainage may have caused the vomiting. The last time my kids had a bad cold, they got sick several times. He may have a virus as well though. As far as the fever, that's normal for their backs to feel hotter.

When my brother was little he would be throwing up every time he had an ear infection so it could be normal for him. As long as he's staying hydrated and its not constant vomiting I wouldn't worry too much. Just keep an eye on him.
