Insurance rant! So stressed!
So after many phone calls to my insurance and hospitol i have to pay $1,414.50 to the insurance because my old OB sent me to a hospitol that does not take my insurance to do my non-stress tests (i have high risk pregnancy). After all this time i had no idea the hospitol people nor did the insurance or doctor notify me of this they had told me i was all set and good but not insurance wise. So 1 month away from my due date and now i have to worry about paying off $1,414.50 with our other bills such as student loans, car payment, car insurance, baby stuff, house bills, ect etc. Hubby bearly started new job n doesnt get paid till 2 weeks from now. This is so stressful!

That sucks your going through that. I just found out my hospital stay when I have my baby is $500 a day im already stressed about it. Try calling and ask for financial assistance. Thats what ima do.

They'll take payments at the hospital. Just ask them.

As long you make payments every month ($10 or more) you can't be sent to collections, once your late or miss one they can.

Contact the hospital billing dept. You may b able to get tht reduced. Hubby was in the hospital for two weeks and we get a bill for our 20% tht was over $9,000!!! He contacted the hospital and thy reduced it to ab $2,000.

You can't rely on people to notify you. This information would be in your insurance policy. Did you ever look through it? Not being rude but we need to fend for ours levels and now rely on companies.

Sorry to hear that, but it's not the hospital's job to know your insurance, much less the referring doctor's. Always call and verify with your insurance provider before going anywhere new, or going anywhere at all in a new calendar year.
As others have said, the hospital will work out a payment plan with you. Don't panic about needing to find it all at once.

Call the billing number on the bill. Set up a payment. Even if all you can send is 5 bucks then that's better than nothing.

It is true paying it off is way better than nothing im sure it will be over before i know it. I have learned my lesson!
