We opted to space out the shots a bit to keep an eye out for reactions. We did 2 at the two month appt and then went back a couple weeks later for the others. You don’t need to give Tylenol (and shouldn’t beforehand). If your baby seems grouchy or uncomfortable afterward then Tylenol is okay if you feel that she needs it. My son hasn’t had a reaction to any of his vaccines.

Its not recommended go give Tylenol beforehand anymore. They used to do that when we were kids with the thought that it relaxed our muscles and the shots wouldnt hurt as bad. There's been more research and now they say no Tylenol before because it can suppress a fever that they check for before giving the vaccines. Baby needs to be healthy to build up antibodies. As for after shots, talk to your pedi but I've never had to give Tylenol. Be sure to rub the injection site right after they give it. I only allow 2 pokes per visit. Most are combo vaccines. I think Wyatt only got 2 at his first check up because he got the 1st hep B right after he was born. If they want to give more than 2, I just make a follow up appt a few weeks later to catch up.

Talk to your doc about possible fever after the shots and at what point they recommend treating with Tylenol. See if they have dosage cards for you so you know how much to give.

We do the recommended vaccine schedule. You'll see differing opinions on this, but I came to the conclusion that there is no benefit in the delayed schedule. You'll have to do some reading and make that decision for yourself.

Talk to your daughters pedi about possibly doing a delayed schedule if you're not ready to do the full schedule. Or even ask if you can reschedule for them so you can look into them more as well as full recommended schedule vs the delay schedule. Also ask for the vaccine inserts themself. What comes in the box package with the vial. Those inserts are from the manufacturers themselves and give you WAY more info than the paper the doctors give that come from the CDC.

Basically look into it all if you feel the need and make your decision that way.

Thanks for the advice ladies. They gave my LO three regular shots and one oral shot. It was pretty horrific to watch and I cried ? I know they are necessary, but man that sucked. I feel awful for doing that to her.

I have my son on a delayed schedule and im researching each vaccine before going ahead with it. Id definently make sure you have tylonel on hand as alot of babies develope fevers after

I got 6 hand outs yestetdat 1 for each shot the wanted to give him. Ive recently learned they put embalming fluid in them!!!! Whaaat?! Not sure if its true or not which is why i plan to research lol byt to answer your question no they are not all 'neccessary'

Tylenol for a fever if lo gets one, it's normal within the first 24hrs.

Awe I'm sorry she cried Mama. My son does too. He gets over it by the time were back in the car headed home. I was told not to give Tylenol for low grade fevers because a fever is the body's response to building antibodies?

Aw poor thing! Everytime dd gets shots she gets a little lump underneath the injection site, and it’s usually red and warm to the touch. I was freaked out the first time but she acted normal for the most part and it always goes away after a day or two

DS is over 2 and I still make my husband hold him for his shots because I'm such a baby about it ? I hate making him cry like that.

We got our dds vaccines as scheduled but they would only do 2 at a time. And we gave her baby Tylenol after her vaccines, my doctor said it was ok but you should ask yours if they think it's ok. Regardless it's good to have baby Tylenol on hand anyways.

It’s good to know I’m not alone! I had Tylenol on hand, but thankfully my LO was okay by the time she got home. She was acting extra tired, but that’s it. She’s okay ? I think it’s harder on us mamas than it is them. They are more resilient than we think.
