Hypothyroidism

Any ladies out there have hypothyroidism or Hashimotos and have been/are pregnant? My highest TSH levels were at 29.3, but recently have been in normal range. I have been taking 150 mcg of levothyroxine for about a year and a half. I am so paranoid my first pregnancy is going to throw my levels off. Also, I'm worried my hypothyroidism will affect my pregnancy negatively. What are your experiences?

I was just diagnosed with hoshimotos at 30 weeks. I am on levothroid 25mg since 20 weeks. My TSH levels are in range but my thyroid antibody range was high. Range is 0

Sorry about your diagnosis. I know how hard it can be, but I'm glad the baby is doing good so far. I'm only nine weeks so I might be getting ahead of myself. I've stayed away from google for sure! Lol. Did you develop Hashimotos from pregnancy or did you have it and not know it before? It took me a while to figure out what was wrong with me.

I have hashimotos and I've had it since I was 14. I have always refused medicine. I knew that when I became pregnant is when I would start medication if necessary or if I struggled getting pregnant I would start it. I went 13 weeks without needing medicine but my levels finally elevated and needed medicine. I actually feel amazing now!! I don't know if it's because I started my second trimester or if it's because of my medicine. I go to a research hospital and have a team of different doctors and they don't seem concerned about my thyroid. I was getting my blood taken every two weeks without medicine and now it's every 4 weeks. So far my baby is healthy!

?? I was diagnosed with hypo about 3-4 years ago. To my understanding, this was probably why I couldn't have a baby because of my levels, symptoms and hormones. Me and my fiancé been trying to have a baby for years...until one day at one of my appointments, my doc said, I had a low thyroid which at that time I didn't know what that meant. Doc explained to me what hypo was and what it does but i had no clue what she was talking about so I did some research myself and believe me, I was not happy with the results. Always thought I was healthy and didn't have to take meds all my life. Eventually,I got over it. Anyways, They put me on levothyroxine 50 Mcg. Levels went back to normal till last year they had to up my dosage to 75mcg. That same year in July is when I found out I was pregnant with my first. Doc even told me, if I were to ever get pregnant to call them asap. Which I did.

They have to monitor your levels throughout your pregnancy. Recently, they had to up my dose again to 100mcg at 33 weeks. My best advice to you is listen to your doctors and keep taking your medication.

My sister has Graves and my mother has hashimotos. Both had two very easy(worked all the way to the end, no issues, carried to term) pregnancies. I have fibro, arthritis and some mild heart and lung issues, but have high risk pregnancies. So you never know how it's going to go. Just keep your levels checked and an open line of communication with your doctor. Best of luck to you.
