Twins genetic?
I know all research says twins are not genetic, but I'm curious if anyone has a lot of twins in their family (blood related). My dad is a twin and my baby's father was a twin. I said was because unfortunately his brother didn't make it through the whole pregnancy. I am only nine weeks right now and it's my first baby! I (secretly ?) want twins. I'm just curious about other people's stories ?

I believe fraternal twins tend to run on the FEMALE side. So if your mom was a twin then you would be more likely to have twins. I think it is because you drop two eggs for fraternal. With identical it is random that the egg splits.

my grandmother was a twin (her twin died at birth) my mother had twins (myself and my twin brother) my cousin have twin boys (fraternal) and my brother have twin boys (fraternal) i have a set of twin girls (identical)

Twins run rampant on my Dad's side of the family. There are at least 5 sets that I know of. My Dad is a twin, my Grandma was a twin, and there are 3 sets of cousins that are twins. I know there are more going back more generations. None on my Mom's side. We just had our fifth baby and all singletons so far.

Pandabug is right. Fraternal twins can run along the female family because it's a tendency for the females to release more than one egg. Identical twins are chance and your hubs genetics won't help you out on this one.

Twins are genetic but from the mom's side . So if your mother was a twin , grandmother from moms side , etc then it's more likely to occur.
But you never know ! ?
