i would give her bananas, avocado, potato and i mash them up. not all together tho lol .. my girl is turning 7 months and i also give her water if i give her food. my girl isn’t really into the food, ill just give her about 4-5 tablespoons of it a day

I started once a day in the morning.
I would give her a 4-6oz bottle first then about 30 min later I would give her solids.

Just another method.
I did baby led weaning with my daughter when she turned six months. Which means no purées, just solid foods served in a way she can eat and hold.
We started on food like carrot, broccoli, swede, sweet potato all in sticks longer than the length of her fist. The food was all steamed soft ish so she can gnaw and eat that way.
We also did breakfast with things like porridge fingers, pancakes, savoury muffins, crumpets, toast etc.. she loves all fruit and veg so far.
Within a few weeks she was eating the exact same as us, burgers, spaghetti and meatballs, chicken curry and rice, lasagne, pasta etc..
She now loves the independence and not happy if I try spoon feed her. She almost 10 months and does it all herself xx

@kayleebee does your baby have teeth? Mine doesn’t yet so I can’t imagine having him naw on something lol

Babies don't need teeth to eat, gums are very strong and can mash stuff up really well.

Not when we started at 6 months. ☺️ Before babies have teeth their gums are quite hard so as long as things are kind of soft they can bite and squish with gums to eat quite effectively x

Thank you gals. I'm so happy I can finally let her try things. She would always get this sad face after attempting to steal food ??

I second baby led weaning. I do it with my 6 month old, and she loves it. She pretty much eats everything we eat. I cook it, then take her portion out before I season it. She loves it! She just doesn't do well with purees. Theyre to thin for her, and she prefers to "chew". I was kinda worried at first after watching videos, but she does great. So far I've never had her actually choke, just gagging. It's so worth it.

I started with baby cereal in the morning. I wanted to do baby led weaning but she gags on any chunks of food so we're still on purees right now. Then we moved to adding dinner, she eats anything from spinich, sweet potatoe, banana, strawberry, raspberries, chicken, squash, pear, mango, all in purees though
