Bassinet Help

So i received a cute bassinet from my friend, but it did not come with a little mattress pad (I've read its suppose to). I planned on using it until we move and I'll get the pack-n-play from SO's family. We currently keep all baby stuff at my dad's house (we've been having issues with our landlord, they stalk us, question who we have over and why they're over[mostly the baby sitter who we've told them about 5 times] and they changed the locks on us 2 weeks ago when we left to grocery shop)
