Amber, we live in Colorado too! It's SO expensive!! We have five kids and two on the way, our grocery bill is almost as much as our mortgage, it's crazy. We stay afloat okay now, but struggled for many years to get where we are now. Lots of praying has helped us over the years--God has thankfully always provided for us just what we needed.

My husband and I both work in finance. He's a bond analyst at an investment firm and I am a portfolio manager/financial advisor working in private wealth management. We work at really great company's in CT so we make a good amount of money. I don't need to work financially but since we have no kids yet I can't justify staying home and doing nothing. I may become a SAHM once the baby arrives but we'll see.

I'm mostly a SAHM, but still do graphic design a little from home and that's my play money I spend judgement-free ?. DH is Vice President (that sounds so obnoxious but it's a smaller company) for a logistics company. He started out there as their sales manager a few years ago.

I'm a business systems analyst for a bank (I work in technology). My husband is a CPA for a local gas and oil company. Seriously thinking about not going back to work after baby #2, but we shall see! It's definitely interesting to see what diverse careers the ladies in this group have though

I work in an ER..however I will be switching jobs to become a rehabilitation specialist. My husband drives for UPS and hits top pay in 6 months. So we are pretty fortunate. Seeing as though the D.C. area is pretty expensive?.

I work in retail as a visual merchandiser (part-time) & my husband is an accessory fitter at a large car yard (full-time). We do well most of the time, but struggle now & then with bills ect. We have two children, One at high school & in primary. We don't need to pay for child care as I'm home in time for them in the afternoons.

My husband is a pastor and I work part time as a nurse. I'd love to quit my job and focus on my clothing business that I run out of my home, but we need the medical benefits from my job. I'm not willing to live without good health insurance for us and the kiddos.

I'm an ER doctor and my husband is a pilot for a major airline. We are in our mid/late 30s, having spent the better part of our 20s working hard to get where we are today!

I'm an associate director at a university and my husband is a fire lieutenant. I also own a photography business that I launched last spring. We do well; I'm thinking about quitting after baby. It would mean a lifestyle adjustment but would be worth it. We live in northern Colorado so cost of living is pretty high...we currently don't pay for childcare tho, so that isn't a benefit to me quitting. My mom retired and watches both kiddos full time.

My SO works days (some days up to 10/12 hours) at a restaurant. He brings home about $650 after taxes every two weeks. I work at a hotel and make about $450 twice a month after taxes. We live in a 2 BD. We have 3 boys and are expecting our 4th boy. So we'll need a bigger place. For now it's good. We pay $695 for rent. Our light comes out to $80. Our car is $366. We struggle from time to time but it's not impossible. Oh and we have a friend watch our 3 boys and he charges us $40 a week. Which is not bad at all.
