Calling all Canadian Ladies!!!

My husband and i are talking about moving to Canada from the US. Maybe make a five year plan to move. What do you ladies like about canada? Is it worth the move from the us? Do you guys have expensive medical care or even have something like medicaid(state assistance). I just want general info about the place!! Hellp please

I love living in Canada! Our health care wait times I believe are alittle longer then US but going to the doctor will cost you nothing. Health care is paid for with tax money. It is a huge relief when it comes to being sick or having a baby knowing there will be no bill at the end! I think you would love it here. What part of Canada would you be moving to? I was born and raised in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. One of the most beautiful places and now live in Alberta which also has some beautiful areas!

I do get jealous of the different kinds of foods and flavors of foods you guys have down there though!!

Everything is more calm in Canada lol.. I would stay away from the big cities though, it's a lot more expensive and crazy. (Currently visiting Montreal and it's driving me nuts) Health care is great, doesn't cost much if you have a job with benefits. Except to keep my benefits during my mat leave I have to pay $241/month to keep them. Mat leave is awesome, you get a year at 55% pay or it just changed at 18 months at 33% pay. It didn't cost one penny to deliver baby at the hospital. Everything is slightly more expensive but minimum wage is a lot more then the US.

You may need to look into the immigration process before you make a 5 year plan. I hear it's pretty strict at the moment.

I live in Calgary, Alberta, Canada and I've been here my whole life. It's a great city, but not to big. And not to far from Banff witch has gorgeous mountains and hiking ect. Healthcare is free. We just pay a slightly higher tax but you cant really notice.

Canada is awesome! But i would definitely look into Canada Immigration website before you start planning anything else, it can be hard and costly getting immigration papers here. I paid so much money- immigrated from Portugal tho. Just check it out and be well prepared. I love Canada tho, and do not regret moving here. Been here for almost 12years now.

Wow thank you all so much for the responses! Lmao i didnt even notice i misspelled canada at first. I will definately look into the immigration costs i didnt even think about that. I also have to petition to leave the u.s with my son as the father and i are not together.:/

It's very hard to come to Canada, especially when you're wanting to work here. Definitely something to look into
