I just told my mom ? (long rant)

My oldest was 11 months when we found out we were expecting baby number two. It's hard somedays and I too think my family doesn't like the fact that I'm a SAHM. But you do whatever works for you guys.

Her opinion doesn't count that much. I guess I'm more bummed right now because I feel no-one is gonna be excited for this baby. It sucks I don't get why people have to be so judgemental about lifestyles they don't understand? but oh well.... at least we are happy and excited!

It sucks she is disappointed, but it sounds like your family is stable enough to handle what life gives you. Give her time and she come around to it. You don't live with her so ultimately your family decisions are up to you and your husband .

Oh wow. That sucks. We have an 11 month old and ttc. She doesn't sleep through the night yet and she is still breastfeeding, with a quit date not in sight. Don't let her opinions bother you too much. The important thing is that you have a new little life to bring in the world, that's something to celebrate!

I'm sure she'll come round. My daughter was nearly 7 months when I fell pregnant with my 2nd. She's just turned 1 and I'm 25 weeks pregnant there's going to be 15 months between them

It sounds like you guys are more than prepared for another baby, screw her. I'm sorry she reacted that way ?

Don't let her get to you. I got pregnant with my ds when my dd was 4 months old. They are 13 months apart. To begin with, I had several people tell me that was a horrible plan and it would be difficult with the kids so close in age. Now that ds is here, I've had the same people tell me how the age gap is perfect because it has been great for my dd. She has learned so much since her brother got here. She is learning to help with him and talk. You will do great with another baby!

My mom reacted that way with every single one of my 3 pregnancies and they were all at least 4 years apart. She loves my kids but her reactions were hurtful every time. I know she probably doesn't realize it, but for me, it did irreparable damage to my relationship with her. While she's more than entitled to her opinion, I would have hoped that she cared more about my feelings than her opinion but apparently not. Sometimes I just want my parents support, not their opinions. Sorry that I have no advice but I know how you feel.

I'm sorry you're being judged, her parenting choices and opinions are not fair to force on you. Just because your 10 month old *baby* is not sleeping through the night and is still breast feeding in NO way makes you a failure as a mom like she is implying. Not only are those ok decisions to make, but they are perfectly normal for a baby that age! I hope she comes around to a place where she can be more supportive.

I had the same problem with my mil when we told her I was pregnant with zach she came around in the end but I was upset for over 3 months because of her words. But she isn't a very nice person so I should have expected it. I hope your mum becomes more supportive for you and I bet ur a wonderful mother my boy wakes up atleast 4 times a night and I can't get him to take a bottle either it doesn't make you a bad mother and he will eventually drink milk out of a cup and sleep through the night try not to let it upset you to much and enjoy ur prgnancy
