My husband and I got married almost 9 years ago. Since at the time we had no money, we were young college students and we couldn't afford anything, we chose to get married at a courthouse with just 2 witnesses (no dress, no engagement ring...)

That's crazy . I'd be lit. But thankfully, her opinion doesn't even matter! ! Sometimes it baffles me how people can be so judgy ! Try to not let it bother you!

Some people are so rude it's horrible that ppl make u feel like that a wedding is a wedding of the bride and groom are present whether there is cake dresses Etc is irrelevant

A big fancy wedding doesn't make a marriage.. That's all you and your husband. Not her place to judge. So sorry girl! That's so ridiculous!

Of course you are married! Its not a big fancy party or a wedding at church that makes a wedding... Take that out from your heart and mind! People should think twice before opening their mouth to say silly things!

Its funny because thats what my fiance and i are planning on doing...and it has nothing to do with finances or fighting families. We just feel its something between us. I am not having a big wedding for everyone else, its a day for us. Id rather spend that money on a family vacation, which is exactly what were going to do ;)
