Why Is My Step-Mom So Passive Aggressive?
Screw you
My step-mom is the biggest passive aggressive b**** on the planet. I'm so sick of her guilt trips and passive aggressive comments and emails. Last year we had a vacation planned to Disney for thanksgiving with my parents. Our van broke down right before the trip, and it cost $2000 to fix it which was all our vacation/travel money so we had to cancel. After that my stepmom sent us a nasty nasty email about how we are entitled and ungrateful....you know because it's our fault our car broke down. My dad whom I previously talked to several times a week....now only communicates with me once a month if that, and it's been almost a year since they have seen the kids. The other day my husband emailed her pictures of the kids with their new glasses...because even though they want to be a****** s about the trip AN ENTIRE YEAR LATER, we still want them to be up to date with their grand kids. My stepmom sent back an email thanking him for the pictures and then spends another 5 paragraphs talking about how they are taking my brother, his wife and my niece on a month long cruise and how wonderful, exciting and amazing it is that they get to spend so much time with my niece. Well bloody awesome for you that my brother is the only child of yours that you aren't being a****** to. They have barely spoken to my sister in over 2 years over a dishwasher. Literally a f*** ing dishwasher.

I accepted that along time ago...but it still pisses me off. My mom is dead, so they are the only grandparents on my side. It's completely unfair to my kids who are actually the ones being punished here.

Wow...over a van and a dishwasher?? What the hell....that's insane. Do they really think the sun shines out of their ass and the world revolves around them??

We all know you broke the car on purpose lol. I would respond with the most passive aggressive reply ever

I wouldn't say it's completely unfair. I mean, do you really want your kids seeing that type of behaviour in person? Or being subjected to it themselves?
Regardless, I'm sorry about how she is treating you and how your father is as well. But I would honestly think of it as a blessing in a really awful disguise.

I told my husband to respond with "how great that you spend so much time with Mira she must enjoy all that time with you guys because we know our kids just LOVE seeing their grandma (husbands mom) every weekend and spending so much quality time with her".

Mustang, oh she would never say these things in person. But get behind a computer screen and she loses whatever manners her mama taught her. I do indeed think it's unfair to the kids. They don't know what goes on between us adults. All they know is that it's been along time since Papou and NaNa have visited and that they miss them.

Sounds like she needs to pull the stick out of her ass! Good for you for being the bigger person and trying. They will be the ones with regrets in the future.

I think our step moms are the same. They must be leading a double life, seriously.
She will send me a nasty 4 page text then cry and say how it "came out wrong" and "she didn't mean it offensively" like literally cry.
What do our dad's see in these terrible women?
