It's a whole day affair at our house with about 50 people. We walk to the local park and play Chicago style soft ball. We get glow sticks and such fir the kids. People start arriving around noon then stay til about ten tonight.... It's so much fun!!

Hamburgers, hot dogs, cowboy dip with chips, water melon, pasta salad, apple dumplings, and root beer floats,

We are going to the base so we are going to have fair food and I'm so excited about it!

Omg I'm so jealous of all this food my SO just wants to stay home with me so we'll probably just have chicken, corn, asparagus and maybe potato salad if I'm not too lazy!

First of all, I was distracted while reading your post at first, so I read part of the first sentence as "we're smoking pot" and was sooo confused ?

Second, that sounds amazing. Can I come to your 4th of July party? My husband and I are making lamb burgers, because he loves different meats. We also have some corn, and that's about it, in terms of special food.

Turkey burgers. Turkey hotdogs. . Beef ribs potato salad. Pasta salad. . And cake and ice cream

It's some sort if thing my sister is making. I thin she said it's Figs stuffed with Gorgonzola cheese and wrapped in a meat??

Fair food! Our village has a small fair every at the park and then they have fireworks.

Grilling hamburgers and hot dogs, corn on the cobb, potato salad, cold pasta salad, baked beans, watermelon, deviled eggs and chips and dip.

We are grilling ribs, putting corn on the cob on the grill. Green beans, baked potato and made macaroni salad! Nummy nummy!!

I've added pineapple margaritas to the mix

We're making... BBQ chicken, cheeseburger, ribs, homemade potato salad and baked beans, homemade potato chips with ranch dressing, salad, watermelon, and a special drink that is red white and blue(it's like cran/apple juice on top, piña colada in the middle and blue gate-raid at the bottom. Also fresh squeezed lemonade. There will also be alcoholic stuff but I'm pregnant so none for me :(

I love everything you guys are talking about now I'm craving it all lol but I really really really love macaroni & cheese on fourth of July! I just think it's the most American food ever! Mmmm I'm so hungry now

We're going to the base later, so whatever they have, probably BBQ/fair food. Next year, I'll BBQ a ton. Our rental house has no decent backyard, so we can't really have many people over.

I've been wanting lasagna for a week so that's what I am making. All of our close family and friends are away for the weekend and we grill out a lot so I'm being untraditional.

I too am smoking ribs (recipe trade later OP?!), I'll make a potato salad (but European style with vinegar and onion), and a tomato salad with basil fresh from the garden!!! We also made chocolate cake (it was hubby's birthday last weekend and my in laws sent him a cake but I had already bought everything to make one!)

Just cooked for the hubby, 3 kids and myself. I grilled;

Made a crab pot with fresh corn on the cob in it, potatoes, eggs, sausage, and crabs.

For desert got cupcakes and watermelon so we good for the day. It's nice here in fl just keep getting on/off rain showers.

The ribs are my husbands domain Sarah. He worships at the alter of BBQ. He used brown sugar, smoked paprika and old bay I think for the rub (we do a dry rub)? And then we cold smoke them with apple wood chips for 8-10 hours and he bastes with them with apple cider vinegar
