What age do you think is too old for boy/girl bff to stop sleeping in the same room? We are going to stay with our friends who we often do family vacations with. My dd is so excited to have a slumber party with her bestie. They are 5 now. I was just thinking as they get older...what age should we start making other sleeping arrangements?

We’ve personally never allowed it. My daughters BFF has been staying the night for years and years. But we always have him sleep in our youngest sons room as a rule.

I feel like that is up to you and the other parents. I have a best friend and our kids are the same age. 10. They still have sleep overs together in the living room. Whenever one of them hits puberty we will put a stop to it. The kids think nothing of it because they have known each other since they were two. I know some people probably think our kids are to old but we don't have a problem with it.

@squishymommy1, that probably would have been a good thought in the beginning. Now it will be hard to explain to them why they can’t in the future. The have been bff since they were 1. His little sister is the same age as my youngest so they will probably bunk together in the future which will make it even harder.

@bigmama18, that’s how it is with our families too. The parents are our bff’s and our kids are the same age and are besties. They moved a few hours away last year so when we get together, it is usually a sleep over. Right now it doesn’t even register to them that they are different genders as far as I can tell.

@tiffanyxbrooks, they will have separate beds. But I’m not concerned about that at this age with these two. We will also have a monitor in there because it’s upstairs and I want to be able to hear them if they need something. I know some kids are more curious about their bodies and others, but neither have shown that yet. It will come for sure though so we will have to stop at some age. Maybe we will just base it on their individual behavior.

@tiffanyxbrooks, definitely! I am a school counselor so I have seen and heard some crazy things in schools! I think I will ask my friend her thoughts. They both def don’t seem to have been exposed to any talk at school yet, thankfully.
Rowdy Vajazzy·
@spookylyn, I agree! We have had those talks about privates and privacy both at home and with their doctor. My youngest (3) has a fused labia and it requires some extra care so we have had those talks with her as well. Never too early!

@rowdy-vajazzy, have you done anything about her fused labia? Asking because my daughter was also born with it and we applied an ointment and it opened up. It’s been good since then.
Rowdy Vajazzy·
@mummytobe093, we also used the cream recently and her doctor said to use vasoline every night now that it opened.
ND·
@rowdy-vajazzy, did you notice it recently or has it been an ongoing thing? I know there’s a chance it can go back
Rowdy Vajazzy·
@mummytobe093, the doctor noticed it at her one year appt, but I opted out of the estrogen cream until she was three. I was trying flax seed oil because I heard it could open it naturally, but it didn’t work. When she was potty training, I decided to treat it because her stream was a bit wild 😂 It took about a week to open and I just put vasoline on it after bath.

@rowdy-vajazzy, hahaha I can so imagine!

thats so cute and innocent, i was never even allowed to sleep in the same bed with my male cousins so idk maybe around 10 would be a good time to stop
