I believe every mom has a moment like this at least once. At his grandmother's house watching a movie.. my quite by nature son plaing with a toy car on the ground by my feet, only glancing down every now and again.. but always aware of what he's up to.. and for a second my attention is not fully devoted to him as I talk to my husband about his day... a moment of silence and suddenly my mother-in-law is laughing so hard that she's almost in tears.. my quite little boy went full ninja on me and without me feeling a thing got the bum cream out of the diaper bag without making a noise! I looked down at the smiling little cream covered face and couldn't help but laugh.. He looked so proud of himself, like he accomplished this great thing. And in that moment I realized that we can always clean up the mess.. but the smiles we need to encourage.. because we look and see a mess and label it as naughty behaviour, but to them it's an achievement.. I might see him waisting cream, but he might think he's just applying it like I would do.. Don't get me wrong.. I did tell him not to do it and from now on I keep things like that well out of reach.. but I laughed with him.. they grow up so fast, it's best to enjoy these moments while you can 😊
