Super paranoid! Any one else paranoid about emergency births at home or in the car?? I'm 37 weeks…

My ride to the hospital is the same distance. It makes me nervous too!

I just had my baby, and I almost didn't make it to the hospital. Labor at my home from 1130 to 3. Left to hospital got there at 4 and had baby at 430. They barely had time to get my iv in, get me in a gown and set up my room. It took doctor 20 minutes to come, once she did I started to push and he was out :) My recommendation is to go to hospital while contractions are 4 minutes apart and not closer. I would even labor at hospital instead of home, Because It was so hectic when I came. They were all rushing so quickly to set everything up. Overwhelming.

@Kristina oh my goodness. I will definitely be leaving the house once contractions are 4-5 mins apart. My hospital is also in the center of downtown so, with traffic and everything.. I'm just getting more and more worried. ?. I'm glad you were able to make it tho! Congratulations! ?

Yea my hospital was in downtown as well. I also hit rush hour traffic and it was raining that day. My contractions went from 3-4 minutes apart to 1 minute apart so quickly I didn't expect it. So I think the rule they have 411 (Contractions 4 minutes apart, lasting 1 minute for 1 hour) is what you should follow . My issue was I stayed home for hours and didn't just leave to the hospital after the 1st hour of consistent contractions

Yes, I'm 38 weeks today and working till the 19th. But my job is an hour away from the hospital ill be delivering at! I'm afraid ill go into labor at work then be stuck in traffic!

The hospital is only 15 mins away luckily, but I'm just worried cuz it's my second and I hear they come quicker so I'm nervous I might not make it lol and I'm already 4cm and my SO is working out of town this week so he's a good hr away so I hope he doesn't miss the birth. I also have to drive my son to my MILs house drop him off then head to the hospital. Luckily my mom will be with me but still nervous?

So glad I'm not alone feeling this way! I'm following the 411 rule of thumb for sure.. I was fortunate with my first, she scratch her amniotic sac and I leaked for about.. 15 hrs before heading to the hospital to get induced because labor didn't start. I had time to shower, grab something to eat and make the same drive.

But with my 2nd, I had about 4 hours of contractions and right when I arrived at the hospital.. they were ready to break my water for me push. Every pregnancy is different so, it's hard to tell if 2nd or 3rd babies come sooner ?

we live 35ish minutes away from the hospital with no traffic and 45ish or more with traffic and this is my 4th kid so im also worried this will happen super fast and i wont make it.
